BOOMLIFTS
A boom lift is a type of aerial work platform used to lift people or tools safely off the ground. It has a long, extendable arm (“boom”) that can reach up, outward, or both. At the end of the boom is a platform or basket where the operator stands. Boom lifts can be articulated (having joints that allow them to bend around obstacles) or telescopic (a straight, extendable boom).
They’re powered either by diesel, electric, or hybrid engines. Key features include safety harness anchor points, controls both in the basket and at the base, stability supports, and non-slip platform surfaces. Used for jobs like construction, maintenance, signage, tree trimming, or anything needing height access. Maneuverability, reach height, weight capacity, and ground conditions are major considerations.
