LIFTING EQUIPMENT

A forklift is a powered industrial vehicle designed for lifting and moving heavy materials over short distances. It has two sturdy forks in the front that slide under pallets or loads. Powered usually by diesel, gas, or electricity, it rides on either solid or pneumatic tires depending on the ground surface. Key components include lifting mast, carriage, forks, counterweight (to balance the load), operator’s seat or cabin with controls. Forklifts are commonly used in warehouses, shipping yards, factories, and construction sites. They’re valued for lifting capacity, reach height, stability, and maneuverability in tight spaces.
